Naperville mayor Scott Wehrli is new to the position of mayor, but not new to leadership. Taking the oath of mayor on April 30th, he has been in office for 83 days and his leadership skills are quite evident including:
- Demonstrate accountability
- Demonstrate courage
- Communicate effectively
- Maximize relationships
- Build trust
- Manage performance
- Think critically
- Manage execution
- Drive change
Additionally punctuality is the quality of being on time, while being punctual is respect for other peoples’ time. Mayor Wehrli respects other people’s time and he demonstrated this quality during the July 18th city council meeting when he announced at 8:21 “a short 10 minute break, being back at 8:31”.
The council returned slightly before 8:31 to continue the meeting and do the peoples’ work.
One of the best, if not the best head football coach in the NFL was Green Bay Packer coach Vince Lombardi. He had a large poster hanging in the locker room which stated, ” If you’re on time, you’re late.”
The Green Bay Packers won the first two Super Bowls lead by coach Vince Lombardi.
Too early to kiss the ring of the almighty Scott Wehrli. Cutting ribbons is an easy job, let’s see how he handles adversity. He can’t run to lawyers to send cease and desist letters to safe him

Can we get Mayor Chirico to get rid of the solar panels at the city. As this article points out they are horrible!
