Suspects Descriptions Missing Something

Naperville’s Mayberry image has taken a hit recently with reports of violent incidents including one at Fifth Third Bank, an armed car jacking in the 1200 block of Naper Blvd., and an armed robbery at a gas station in the 100 block of east Ogden.

Information released about the suspects regarding the incident on Ogden Avenue included:

  • In their early 20’s
  • wearing dark-colored sweatshirts and jackets
  • Two were wearing gray gloves
  • One was stocky build, the other two had thin builds

In another incident in downtown Naperville, two men confronted two groups of people, involving a gun being fired. The suspects were described as being:

  • 18 to 20 years old
  • one had a stocky build,
  • short dark hair, about 5-foot-10,
  • wearing dark pants with no shirt
  • the other was about 5-foot-2
  • short dread-locked hair,
  • light colored tank top, pants,
  • and facial covering

In each incidence, something obviously was missing; did they appear to be Asian, Black, Hispanic, White or something else? Why is this not reported? Obviously the police would like to disseminate as much information as possible to help identify and detain the suspects, so who is trying to protect the culprits, rather than helping the police and protecting the victims?

I, for one, would like to know if I need to be on the lookout for a car full of  blue-eyed, blond-haired, ne’er-do-wells.
