If Buttigieg Can Do It, Why Not Chirico

What’s up with the Naperville city council? Three council members (Patty Gustin, Paul Leong, and Jennifer Bruzan Taylor) have announced their intentions to run for office other than city council. That begs the question: why are the other six council members staying?

Each of the six are well-suited for other opportunities:

No one is more ‘well-suited’ than councilman Ian Holzhauer as a model in GQ magazine. No one looks better in a suit or uniform than Holzhauer, and I say that in all seriousness (thank you for your service in the military)

Councilman Paul Hinterlong could have a career in comedy as a stand-up comedian, and he can do it sitting down. A genuine funny guy; he could win any election if wit and humor were the criteria.

Councilman Patrick Kelly could make it big time if there was a position as a walking talking-point.

Councilman Benny White could be the official State of Illinois Czar for DIE (diversity, inclusion, and equity)

Theresa Sullivan could be the official State of Illinois PJGW (Pronoun Jockey / Gender Wizzard)

And finally there is Mayor Steve Chirico. If former South Bend, Indiana mayor Pete Buttigieg, can run for President and settle for Secretary of Transportation, why can’t Chirico do at least as well. In fact, other mayors have reached the level of President of the United States including Andrew Johnson (Greenville Tn.), Grover Cleveland (Buffalo, N.Y.), and Calvin Coolidge (Northampton, Mass.)

If Aurora mayor Richard Irvin can run for Governor of Illinois, Naperville mayor Steve Chirico can surely run for POTUS.
