We have a 5th contestant entering the Naperville race for City Council…Farid Shabazz.
The Watchdog doesn’t have much to say about Shabazz yet as he’s new to politics and little comes up on searches on his name. The Watchdog can say that he appears to be unconnected to either Party …. which is a significant plus. He also takes a good picture which may count for more than it should during this time of growing social media impact on campaigns.
Fresh names and faces keep things interesting! We look forward to learning more about Mr. Shabazz in the months to come and wish him luck!
Note: The Watchdog doesn’t count someone as a candidate for merely pulling a packet. Many do that with no real intention of running. Shabazz has made an announcement that he’s running and has a kickoff planned so we count him as a candidate.
What is his agenda and which party does he align himself with? Is he strongly involved with the community, does he hold any degrees, his he a scholar, has he served in the military, is he pro-life and an advocate for LGBTQ?
I for one is tired of these so-called politicians who jump into a race because likes. Mr. Shabzz who are you ?

Candidate Shabazz has begun to open up his social media presence if one takes any kind of a look. We note his photo friendly looks remain, and an deft hand when applying use of image filters gives us a sure sign of sophistication behind the campaign. As we see in so many races this season- ALL candidates benefit from an open and transparent policy stance. The difference between uninformed mobs and informed citizenry is how well we know the folks we trust with the sacred flame of liberty in our votes.
