Naperville Councilmen Hinterlong And White Campaigned On Keeping It Simple

In the Field of Dreams, “if you build it, they will come”. In politics, ‘if you keep it simple, it can be accomplished”. Naperville councilmen Paul Hinterlong and Benny White might subscribe to that theory, since their campaign commitments were limited and straight-forward, making it easier for them to deliver on what they said.

Paul Hinterlong’s platform included:

  • Limited taxes.
  • Lower debt.
  • Efficient regulation.
  • Fiscal discipline.
  • Reduce spending.
  • Alleviate congestion.
  • Encourage business growth.
  • Sensitive to issues important to seniors.

Benny White’s platform included:

  • Lower taxes.
  • Attainable housing.
  • Engaging youth.
  • Public safety.
  • Traffic and congestion.

Both council members couldn’t have stated their focus and goals more clearly or succinctly. If any members of the Naperville city council can remember what their campaign commitments were, it would have to be both Paul Hinterlong and Benny White, along with council members Ian Holzhauer and Patrick Kelly. Combined they had a total of 19 commitments or about five each, a very manageable number.
